📌 Understanding the difference between dreams and goals/plans (both are important).

I have a lot of dreams - short term, long term. It’s important to me to daydream - to imagine all the ways I can craft this one sweet, beautiful life of mine.

👉 But I try to keep my goals/plans limited and concise. If I expected myself to be consistent, stick to and complete all my dreams right now, I would be so overwhelmed, I’d never even start.

It’s important to know the difference between the two - allow yourself to dream BIG dreams and then distinguish what dreams you decide to put into action.

📌 Vision boards are not enough - write it out, why now? Why this?

I love a vision board. I love to have a visual representation of what I am working towards, what I’m dreaming of and the pieces that make up the woman I aim to be.

👉 But this is not enough. I journal and I journal specifically.

When I’m working towards a goal, I ask myself why do I want this and why now?

I want to sell myself on my goal so that I am SO invested, SO in the zone that it consumes every part of me and I can’t imagine a world in which I don’t achieve what I’m dreaming of.

📌 Be curious about who you are and allow yourself to flourish in other areas.

All work and no play makes Gina a burnt out girl.
I have found that if I do not prioritize the other parts of my brain, my life, my heart and I just sprint sprint sprint on work related tasks, I will burn out so fast, lose interest in work and not get anywhere.

For me prioritizing means putting it on my schedule and putting my money where my mouth is.

I have a hard time naturally balancing my different interests - I have a feeling this is a pretty universal feeling for people living in these times. (Do you feel this way too?)

So I go out of my way to block time out to nourish all parts of me.

👉 I work with a trainer 3x a week online. This is expensive and I know it’s not accessible to everyone. However, I like it because it’s expensive. I won’t cancel or flake on this because I have invested in it - in myself. No matter how busy my week is, I know I will move my body three times.

👉 I volunteer once a week as a crisis counselor for a hotline. Volunteer work nourishes so many parts of me.

As someone who travels full time, this is a remote position that makes me feel connected to a larger community. It brings me outside of myself and keeps my gratitude high.

👉 I work with a language tutor to learn Italian. Learning a language at 36 is humbling 🤣

But it is so good for my brain and makes me feel excited about life and good about myself. The version of Gina I want to be speaks Italian fluently so we are learning and practicing every week.

These are just some of the things that work for me.
