3 reasons selling print on demand is the best (I think) way to open your own business online

I spoke with someone who didn’t really know what Print on Demand was but they knew they wanted to be an 🔥 entrepreneur 🔥 like me...

⛓️‍💥 They wanted the freedom of working from home and working for themselves.

📌 Here’s what I told her:

#1 Low start up costs

My absolute most favorite part of selling print on demand - you do not have to buy/keep inventory.

I do not have to order $100s worth of my jewelry ahead of time and hope that a certain design sells.

🏷️ Let’s say I sell a necklace with a card for daughter from dad - my production partner in Florida prints that one single product, assembles the package and ships it directly to my customer.

I pay for the cost of just that one item. I’m not investing tons of money on inventory up front.

Recently, I was curious how much it would cost to open a brick & mortar store - like if I opened an in-person version of my Print on Demand stores.

👀 So I did some googling....

💸 Between $80,000 and $100,000

I mean I knew it would be a lot but OMG 😱

I know for a lot of the people we work with, it can be intimidating or challenging to invest money in your future.

But when I compare the cost of starting a POD business with the cost of opening a brick and mortar store or even going to school for another degree (omg dont get me started on the cost of school), this business model seems like a no brainer. 🧠

#2 Print on Demand is totally remote

When I make a sale, I don’t print the item. I don’t package it. I don’t stand in line at the post office.

🏝️ My production partner in Florida does all of that for me.

When I make a sale, that information goes from my website to my production partner automatically. They make the item and ship it directly to my customer. I don’t have to press a single button.

👉 This means I can sell from my RV as we road trip across the country. I can make sales from my nephew’s t-ball game in Texas. I can make sales from a boat in Italy. I can make sales while I sleep!

#3 Happy customers

I sell print on demand gifts in the family gift giving niche. Every product we sell has a heartfelt message on it.

💪 These messages are powerful and personal and create special moments in people’s lives.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️  Actual reviews from my customers ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“The quality was amazing and my brother called me crying to thank me for the gift! Shipping was very fast too!”

“After reading the note, she starting crying in joy and saying it was her most cherished present. Thank you for this!”

From a business standpoint, happy customers = low returns and better profit margins.

From a personal perspective, it makes me feel good knowing that something I’ve written, something I’ve designed was a part of a special moment in someone’s life. 💕

If you’re new to something like this, I know it can feel overwhelming to get started. 🤯
